Hilma af Klint's Swan Paintings

Painting in the style of Klint’s Swan paintings

Swan No. 17

Hilma af Klint was an artist and mystic from Sweden. She might be the first abstract artist in the Western fine art tradition but this remains a contentious issue.

Around 1914 she painted a series of paintings with the “Swan” title. Numbers 16 and 17 look like the example linked to above and are the subject of this style algorithm.

The PME basically follows the geometric shapes of the original while changing the colors and allowing solid semicircles to occur. Since there are only two examples of this style of painting from Klint, it’s difficult to know the exact “rules” she was following. Like with all the other style algorithms, I have to make my own decisions on various issues.
