Album primo avrilesque

Album primo-avrilesque Style Algorithm.

Album primo-avrilesque monograph by Alphonse Allais.

This Style Algorithm simulates the Album primo-avrilesque monograph by the late French writer and artist Alphonse Allais. The name is a reference to April Fool's Day.

The original contained a series of paintings that were each all of one color accompanied by a humorous title explaining the color. This was followed by sheet music written for a funeral procession that consists entirely of silence (rests).

Our approach here is to generate paintings all of one color with a fancy border around each one. Each painting has a title generated by using the name of the color with a subject, verb, and an object. Like: “A blue box eating a blue feeling.” The titles are nonsensical but are hopefully somewhat humorous in their own way.

This is followed by sheet music we generate made up of rests. Allais’s original did not have rests but I went with it anyway.
