Notation

Once you’ve generated your masterpiece (or approximation thereof) you can print out a score. Or several. In addition to standard notation there are several styles of graphical notation included.

Below are the types of notation that have been implemented so far. Click on them for longer descriptions and actual examples.

Standard Notation: This is the standard notation as produced by Lilypond. Lots of crazy options were chosen for this one.

Feldman’s Graph Notation: Based on the notation system devised by Morton Feldman around 1951.

Csound Score: Data generated for Csound.

The following graphical notation methods were created by composer Robert Kirkpatrick and adapted by me.

Pattern 15: For one sound source of varying magnitudes.

Pattern 35: For any instrument and nine pools of sound.
